Went to buy a hand gun today ... REFUSED by Obama !!
 
After reading the pocket gun thread, I got excited about buying one. A gun that you can carry, right in my front pocket.

Anyways, went to 2 stores and found a Kel-Tec P3AT .. The shop owner said he cant sell any guns today, because the Federal system was down.. WTF??Is this the start of Obama's gun control. Maybe im overracting, but this is Bull$hit.

When and if it resumes to "allow" people to buy guns again. Im buying more than one.. Probably get a 9mm also.

See if there are any other dealers in town. We have someone that we worked through that is online but does not have a shop. You buy your gun, have it shipped to him, he does all the LEGAL (I mean it is done HONESTLY, LEGALLY) paperwork. I am not sure what state you are in, so you would have to see what your local laws are. It is one more route of doing it.

You could be right, about having the Federal System down as a way of preventing people from purchasing guns.

it crashes all the time. i've been turned away at least 3 times in the last 7 or 8 years that i remember.

If NICS is still down tomorrow, then I'd say we raise the Patriot Defense Condition to DEFCON 1.

NICS fails the day after another mass shooting? Coincidence? We'll see.

Chances are low that Obummer had his hand in this, especially since he's "allowed" so many latecomers to arm themselves over the last few months. I'd try tomorrow.

Won't the Gun shop keep trying the system then call you after they've got it though???

I thought I either had that happen or the guy told me he would do that if it did not get though...

While you're at it, get your concealed handgun license (if you live in a State that allows them); this way you won't have to rely on the NICS - do the paperwork, show your license and walk out with the gun(s).

It could be a good thing, maybe the system is overloaded.

Let us know when you try tomorrow, if it is still down I will start to worry.

in October it was down for 3 days-

Refused by Bush

had a AR shipped in had to wait to pick it up.

It could also be due to the simple fact that A LOT of people are buying guns and A LOT of checks are being done right now.

Even federal computer databases have their limits, and the recent Alabama shooting probably created more buying panic in an already paniced market.

With a carry permit you walk out with the gun, no delay, regardless of whether the system is up, down or sideways. Can't imagine why all of you who live in the free states don't have CCW's.

Also can't understand why those of you who don't live in a free state don't leave.

If your state has used some BS reason to deprive you of your right, God help you.

Go to nearest gun show, purchase from private seller .... no registration, no wait, no paper trail, no sales taxes, etc., etc., etc. .....

Doesn't work that way in some states, sorry to say. CCW or no CCW, you're still stuck with 4473/NICS.

Nice gun. I've got one in my pocket at this very moment.

Its not beautiful, but it fits the bill perfectly for pocket carry.

I carry mine in a Desantis holster and its like carrying a slightly thick wallet.

The gun check system had lots of problems when Eric Holder was AG under Clinton. More of the same lame BS. Don't worry Obama will be a one term President. His ratings are going South and he will take the AG with him. :banana:

Only problem is by time BHO is thrown out of the whitehouse.........we will probally be in the throes of a full fledge revolution....which lays the ground work for the rise of a dictator.
